SHAH ALAM, June 28 — Selangor is reinforcing its commitment to promoting Malaysia’s economic and cultural agenda abroad through its official participation in the Malaysia Fair Osaka 2025 from June 27-29.
The three-day event at Lalaport Expocity in Osaka, marking the first time the Malaysia Fair is being held outside Tokyo, is expected to attract over 50,000 visitors from diverse backgrounds, including the Japanese public, business communities, and international delegates.
State executive councillor for youth, sports and entrepreneurship Mohd Najwan Halimi said Selangor will showcase its strengths through a series of exhibitions and promotional activities that highlight the state’s unique offerings.
They include tourism and cultural heritage, as well as the digitalisation of micro-enterprises through initiatives such as Platform Selangor (PLATS).
"This is not only a platform to promote our local products, but also a testament to the state's capability as a leader in Malaysia's digital economic transformation," he said in a statement today.
Najwan said among those to have visited Selangor's booth was Malaysia’s Ambassador to Japan Datuk Shahril Effendi Abd Ghany, who praised the state government’s proactive efforts in expanding economic diplomatic ties through international exhibitions like this.
"The Malaysia Fair Osaka 2025 is also seen as an early catalyst for the upcoming Business Acceleration programme in conjunction with the World Expo Osaka 2025, providing a strategic platform for local industry players to penetrate the Japanese and East Asian markets," he said.
The fair is organised by Malaysian Embassy in Tokyo in collaboration with all Malaysian agencies in Japan.
