SHAH ALAM, June 26 — Approximately RM64.79 million in current assessment tax for 2025 has been collected by the Selayang Municipal Council (MPS) as of May 31.

Its Deputy President Az'har Samsuri said the amount represents 96.72 per cent of this year’s current assessment tax collection target of RM67 million.

“MPS has also collected RM5.06 million, or 53.35 per cent, of assessment tax arrears during the same period.

“The total amount of outstanding assessment tax to be collected is RM9.5 million,” he said in his speech during the council's sixth monthly meeting today.

Meanwhile, Az'har said that MPS has also begun processing warrants of notice expiry (Form E) for property owners with combined tax arrears of RM200 and above, starting from April 11.

“As of May 31, 2025, 37,496 warrants have been processed, while 20,273 have been delivered,” he said.

Az'har added that the local authority began distributing rubbish bins to property owners who have settled their 2025 assessment tax payments since May 5.

“3,297 bins have been claimed by owners, while 1,203 units remain unclaimed,” he said.
