PETALING JAYA, June 21 — The Selangor Industrial Corporation (SIC) is aiming to become a leader in green and digital technology innovation, positioning itself as a key player in the industry.
Its chief executive officer Saharom Mohni said one of SIC’s main agendas — as a subsidiary of the Selangor Agricultural Development Corporation (PKNS) — includes establishing a high-capacity data centre and developing floating solar technology, which has strong potential to drive the renewable energy sector.
“SIC is taking bold steps through various high-impact initiatives expected to benefit the state's economic development and contribute to national prosperity.
“We believe the technologies being developed at SIC are among the most advanced. Our goal is to make SIC a benchmark for technological advancement for the benefit of Selangor and Malaysia as a whole.
“SIC is also venturing into cybersecurity services and has begun discussions with several international strategic partners, including the Environment Ministry and financial institutions in Oman,” he said.
Saharom was speaking at a press conference after attending the SIC 40th Anniversary Invitational Golf Tournament at the Seri Selangor Golf Club today. Also present was the Selangor State Secretary Dato' Ahmad Fadzli Ahmad Tajuddin.
In other developments, he said the anniversary tournament is not only a gesture of appreciation to the state government, its agencies, and strategic partners, but also a platform to strengthen long-term collaborative relationships.
Several corporate social responsibility initiatives are also being planned, including a blood donation drive under the “SIC40: Celebrating Lives, Saving Lives” campaign, which will take place in August to support the community's well-being.
“SIC will also reach out to orphanages and underserved communities through visits and donation handovers as a show of care towards the social development of the people of Selangor,” Saharom said.
