KUALA LUMPUR, June 21 — A paper factory was destroyed in a fire along Jalan Lembah Kinrara in Kampung Lembah Kinrara, Puchong today.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) assistant operations director Ahmad Mukhlis Mokhtar said about 80 per cent of the 12,000 sq ft factory was destroyed in the blaze, but no casualties were reported.
He said the department received an emergency call about the incident at 12.14pm before dispatching 31 personnel and eight fire engines from the Puchong, Subang Jaya, Seri Kembangan, and Jalan Penchala Fire and Rescue Stations to the scene.
“The first engine arrived at the scene, located about 6.7km from the Puchong station, at 12.22pm, just eight minutes after the call was received.
“The fire was successfully brought under control by 1.36pm,” he said in a statement today.
The cause of the fire and the estimated losses are still under investigation.
