SHAH ALAM, June 21 — The Hulu Selangor Municipal Council (MPHS) has approved a new development plan worth RM260 million in the Serendah High-Value Industrial Town, which is expected to create job opportunities for 2,000 residents.

It said that the development plan includes a proposal for the construction of a battery assembly plant by Linergy Power Sdn Bhd, which will be carried out under the MPHS 14 Flagship initiative.

“MPHS 14 Flagship is one of the methods under the High-Speed Hulu Selangor initiative, using the Industrial Green Lane (IGL) platform, which is a module available in the OSC 3.0 Plus Online System with several process improvements.

“One of the offerings of this method is the commitment that approval letters will be issued immediately after the meeting. Developers are also offered the opportunity to apply for a temporary licence, and a full licence can be granted promptly once the Certificate of Completion and Compliance (CCC) is deposited,” MPHS said in a Facebook post yesterday.

The approval letter was handed over by council president Julaiha Jamaludin to Linergy Power's investment director Lu Zhan after the Local Centre Development Planning Committee (OSC) meeting yesterday.

MPHS also expressed its commitment to continuing to collaborate with the state government via Invest Selangor Bhd to attract more high-impact new investments to Hulu Selangor.

Increased investment in the district will raise property values and open more job opportunities for the local community.

“MPHS is also committed to ensuring that investors who wish to invest in Hulu Selangor are provided with facilitators in line with the initiatives outlined in the ‘Ease Of Doing Business in Hulu Selangor’,” it said.

Under the Selangor Structure Plan 2035, Hulu Selangor has been identified as a Transport Manufacturing Hub focusing on investments in automotive and transportation manufacturing plants.
