SHAH ALAM, June 10 — The second series of Gagasan Rumpun Selangor (GRS) is scheduled to take place at the end of this year on a larger and more festive scale.
State executive councillor for rural development Datuk Rizam Ismail said the concept for the second series of the programme is still being discussed with the royal palace and the Menteri Besar's office.
“InsyaAllah, following the encouraging response previously, we will continue with the second GRS series at the end of the year, as there are several aspects that need to be reorganised. We expect the atmosphere to be more lively.

“The Raja of Muda Selangor Tengku Amir Shah will remain involved and will go to the ground to engage with the people throughout the districts in the state,” he told Media Selangor.
GRS was introduced to strengthen the spirit of national unity and the community system in Selangor.
Its implementation encompasses six main agendas: carnivals and explorations, policies, a unity song, as well as the restructuring and empowerment of village leadership institutions.
GRS has toured all districts since February last year, starting in Hulu Selangor and ending in Gombak.
In another development, Rizam said a care centre for senior citizens and disabled persons in Sabak Bernam is set to open early next month and will be able to accommodate over 24 residents.
“This care centre involves two houses, one for men and one for women. It has been completed, and is currently undergoing final inspections and improvements by the Social Welfare Department (JKM).
“It will be managed by certified caregivers and also monitored by JKM. For now, priority will be given to residents of Sabak Bernam,” he said.
Previously, the Sabak Bernam Madani Community Welfare Association and the Sungai Air Tawar State Constituency Service Centre collaborated to establish the care centre.
