GOMBAK, May 21 — Approximately 1,800 applications for the Muassasah Hajj Incentive from prospective pilgrims across Selangor have been approved to date.

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari urged all eligible pilgrims to apply before the deadline on July 25.

"Currently, each state constituency is actively registering applications. Therefore, we urge all qualified prospective pilgrims to apply for this incentive at their nearest community service centre.

"This contribution is intended to ensure the continued welfare of Muslims, particularly in performing the Hajj, which demands thorough physical, mental, and financial preparation. This initiative also reflects the state leadership's concern for the people," he said.

Amirudin was speaking after officiating the Muassasah Hajj Incentive 2025 Handover Ceremony for the Gombak Parliamentary constituency at Masjid Al-Ridhuan in Hulu Kelang yesterday.

During the event, the Menteri Besar also symbolically presented the Muassasah Hajj Incentive to 47 prospective pilgrims from the constituency who have yet to depart for Saudi Arabia.

He added that heirs or pilgrims who have not had the chance to collect the incentive may do so at their nearest state constituency service centre.

Meanwhile, one of the recipients, Ahmad Zaini, 51, plans to use the contribution to help cover the cost of his pilgrimage.

"I heard about the incentive from a friend during a recent Hajj course. The application process was simple. Alhamdulillah, this contribution will at least ease my financial burden and help with expenses in the Holy Land," said Ahmad, who is scheduled to depart on Tuesday (May 27).

Another recipient, Jumanah Amir, 65, who will depart for Hajj on Saturday (May 24), also expressed her gratitude to the state government for the contribution.

"InsyaAllah, with this contribution, I intend to offer it to those in need in the Holy Land or donate to a mosque in my housing area in Taman Melawati. I hope this initiative will continue," she said.

When tabling the 2025 Selangor Budget in November last year, Amirudin said the Selangor Muassasah Hajj Incentive will continue this year with a RM1.2 million allocation to support those less financially able who wish to perform the pilgrimage.

It is a fully-sponsored Hajj programme for B40 citizens, funded by the state government.

Applications for the RM1,000 Muassasah Hajj Incentive would be open from Tuesday until July 25.

He noted that the initiative, which will benefit 6,000 recipients via a RM6 million allocation, is open to pilgrims who vote in Selangor and may apply through their respective state constituency service centres.
