KUALA LUMPUR, May 10 — The nominations for Parti Keadilan Rakyat 2025 Election which ended at 11.59pm yesterday saw Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim not challenged by anyone for the position of the party's president.
According to sources, the position of deputy president is being fought straight between Nurul Izzah Anwar and the incumbent cum Economy Minister Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli.
For the position of vice president, 12 members have submitted their respective nominations.
The following is a list of candidates vying for the position of Keadilan vice president for the 2025-2028 term:
- Chang Lih Kang (Science, Technology, and Innovation Minister )
- Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad (Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability Minister)
- Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari (Selangor Menteri Besar)
- Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun (Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar)
- Datuk Seri R. Ramanan (Entrepreneur and Cooperative Development Deputy Minister)
- Sim Tze Tzin (Bayan Baru MP)
- R. Yuneswaran (Segamat MP)
- Dr Sathia Prakash Nadarajan (Keadilan Hulu Selangor division head)
- Senator Abun Sui Anyit (Keadilan Hulu Rajang division head)
- Hee Loy Sian (former Selangor state executive councillor)
- Mustaffa Kamil Ayub (National Entrepreneurship Institute chairman)
- Manivanan Gowin (Keadilan Jempol division head)
In addition, the Finance Minister's political secretary Muhammad Kamil Abdul Munim is the sole candidate for the position of Angkatan Muda Keadilan (AMK) chief, while Keadilan Wanita chief post is a one-on-one clash between Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek and Ampang MP Rodziah Ismail.
Nominations for the 2025 Keadilan Elections occurred online over two days, starting Thursday (May 8).
The objection process is set for May 11 and May 12, followed by objection appeals (May 13-14) and withdrawal deadline (May 14), while the final list of candidates is on May 15, with the campaign period (May 15 to May 22) and voting on May 23.
The Keadilan National Congress, including the AMK Congress and Wanita Congress, is scheduled to be held from May 21 to May 24 in Johor Bahru.
