SHAH ALAM, May 6 — The organisation of multiple growth sectors under a unified platform at the Selangor International Business Summit (SIBS) 2025 allows the state to present a more holistic economic narrative and enhance its appeal to cross-sector investors.

State executive councillor for investment, trade and mobility Ng Sze Han noted that this year’s summit, to be held in October, will feature two new components — the Selangor Care Economy Summit and the rebranded Selangor Aerospace Summit (SAS).

The move is part of the state government’s strategy to strengthen key economic ecosystems.

“The inclusion of the Selangor Care Economy Summit marks the sector’s formal recognition under SIBS 2025 as a new growth area.

“At the same time, the aerospace segment has been restructured to support the industry’s full value chain through the newly named Selangor Aerospace Summit,” Ng said in a Facebook post today.

SIBS 2025 returns to a single-week format from October 8 to 11 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, following its two-part series last year. It will be part of the Asean Summit, and targets over 700 booths, 50,000 visitors and a potential transaction value of RM10 billion.

The Selangor Care Economy Policy, introduced earlier this year, aims to support family members caring for children, the elderly, and people with disabilities, while developing the caregiving workforce and infrastructure.

The policy is anchored on five strategic pillars – regulation, professional training, public-private investment partnerships, innovation, and public education — and sets the foundation for a sustainable care ecosystem.

The inaugural Selangor Care Economy Summit will gather experts in healthcare, social welfare, and community development to shape long-term strategies. It will also showcase flagship initiatives such as MamaKerja, which supports mothers returning to the workforce, and Impak, a programme that has trained over 900 informal caregivers.

Meanwhile, the SAS, formerly known as the Selangor Aviation Show, will transition to an indoor, conference-style format.

First launched in 2021, the event previously featured static aircraft displays at the open-air SkyPark Regional Aviation Centre in Subang.

The new format will focus on trade visitors and industry development, with an emphasis on general and business aviation, especially in maintenance, repair and operations. It will also feature forums on talent development and sustainability, including initiatives to support the adoption of sustainable aviation fuel.

Other than the Selangor Care Economy Summit and SAS, SIBS 2025 will feature four major events — the 11th Selangor International Expo (Food and Beverage), 5th Selangor Investment and Industrial Park Expo, 9th Selangor Asean Business Conference, and the 10th Selangor Smart City and Digital Economy Convention.
