SHAH ALAM, April 28 — 22 businesses from the care sector have joined the first series of the Selangor Care Accelerator 2025 (XCare), which begins today.

State executive councillor for women's empowerment and social welfare Anfaal Saari said the businesses involved include care centres for the elderly, mental health services, midwifery, and massage therapy.

“All the care centres participating in this programme are registered with the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM) and the Social Welfare Department (JKM).

“Each participant will go through seven modules related to business development, including classes and pitching sessions, starting today and continuing until June.

“The topics presented focus on the care economy, aiming to expand businesses in the care sector. We hope that through this programme, the agenda of caregivers will be uplifted,” she said.

Speaking at the launch ceremony, Anfaal said the state government intends to make this programme an annual event.

“This is the first time it has been organised and, seeing the need for it, we may continue it in the coming years with improvements based on the experience of this inaugural round,” she added.

The XCare programme's organisation aligns with the fourth core of the Selangor Care Economy Policy 2024–2030: Investment and Collaboration.

The programme is conducted in collaboration with Selcare, Wanita Berdaya Selangor (WBS), the Selangor Public Library Corporation (PPAS), and the Selangor Information Technology and Digital Economy Corporation (Sidec).
