SHAH ALAM, April 24 — The state government has launched a survey through its Special Committee for Improvements of Care Services (JKPPP) to gather feedback from care centre operators and help improve the industry.
Committee chairman Michelle Ng Mei Sze said the survey, which was sent to care centres and nursery operators via email on April 21, also targets those who intend to operate such facilities but have not yet registered their premises with government agencies.

The survey is crucial for meeting the challenge of increasing demand for care services due to a rising population, and for increasing the number of registered care centres so that operators receive adequate training and guidance.
Findings from the survey will also be used to create business-friendly guidelines that balance safety and to map the care economy landscape in Selangor, ensuring more targeted subsidies and assistance.
"However, we are aware that there are several challenges faced by care centres and nursery operators in complying with the procedures and guidelines presently set by the government
"Therefore, this survey is very important as its findings will be analysed and taken into account in the process of amending the guidelines for care centres and nurseries by the state government, which will be finalised this year.
"The views of nursery and care centre operators as one of the main stakeholders in the care industry are very valuable in helping us to formulate better policies and procedures," she said in a statement yesterday.
Ng added that the collected feedback will only be used for research purposes, not enforcement, to identify the challenges and obstacles faced by operators.
She said the move is in line with the state government's efforts under the Selangor Care Economic Policy (DEPNS) to streamline governance and quality monitoring of day care centres.
The survey, conducted in collaboration with Hayat Technologies Sdn Bhd, is available at https://tinyurl.com/surveypusatjagaan and will remain open until May 17.
Those who participate will be given access to the study results and a free coupon for the Selangor International Care Summit 2025. At present, 87 operators have already completed the survey.
