SHAH ALAM, April 20 — Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj today reminded Muslims not to betray their brethren by offering fake haj packages and profit off a lie.

The Ruler said Islam forbids its followers to lie, and that God will repay the sins of those who betray others.

“I hope that in future, there are no more cases of pilgrims falling victim to fraudulent agents. I hope the state government takes this matter seriously,” His Highness said during the Perdana Haji Course completion ceremony at the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Mosque here today.

The Ruler was accompanied by Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari and Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Dato’ Mohd Naim Mokhtar.

His Highness expressed hope that Malaysian Muslims, especially ones from Selangor, maintain their discipline when in the holy land.

Sultan Sharafuddin was informed at Malaysian pilgrims, including those from Selangor, were among the most disciplined and compliant with rules set by the Saudi government.

“Focus on worship in the holy land and avoid being involved in any protests or demonstrations.

“Be patient in the face of difficulties and challenges there, especially in Arafah, Muzdalifah and Mina,” the Ruler said.
