KUALA LUMPUR, April 20 — Pos Malaysia Bhd has taken immediate action, including by directly communicating with its worker over a complaint of torn uniforms, and has resolved the matter.
Pos Malaysia also announced in a Facebook post that its group chief executive officer Charles Brewer has humbly apologised to the staffer, and issued an unreserved apology to anyone offended by his previous statement.
“He has admitted that his response should have been with more empathy, and with strong determination, he has promised to build a work culture that mutually respects and supports all Pos employees,” the company said in the post, adding that it is improving internal processes to ensure uniforms can be replaced more quickly.
The commitment is being conducted to ensure all Pos Malaysia staff can serve in comfort and with confidence.
The issue came to light when a screenshot of a Pos Malaysia worker’s post on the company’s internal forum about his torn uniform and request for a replacement went viral on social media due to Brewer’s dismissive response to the complaint.
