RIYADH, April 19 — The General Directorate of Public Security has announced that the implementation of Hajj arrangements and procedures will take effect on Wednesday (April 23), requiring all residents intending to enter Mecca to obtain a valid entry permit from the relevant authorities.
The Saudi Press Agency reported that individuals without the required entry permit will be denied access at security checkpoints leading to the holy city.
The directorate emphasised that the established arrangements and procedures for this year’s Hajj, 1446 AH, will be strictly enforced.
Vehicles and residents without a work entry permit for the holy sites, a resident ID, or an official Hajj permit from their country of origin will be turned back.
The General Directorate of Public Security further clarified that entry permits to Mecca for residents working during the Hajj season are issued electronically via the "Absher Individuals" platform and the "Muqeem Portal," through technical integration with the unified digital platform for Hajj permits.
