SHAH ALAM, Aril 18 — Raja Muda of Selangor Tengku Amir Shah visited the state’s Orang Asli community on the second day of the Gagasan Rumpun Selangor (GRS) tour in Gombak yesterday.
His Royal Highness was accompanied by executive councillor for rural development and unity Datuk Rizam Ismail to the Orang Asli Museum, where they were welcomed by 100 Orang Asli with a Tarian Sewang dance.
While there, Tengku Amir took time to show his skill at using a blowpipe, participated in traditional games, and enjoyed a display of traditional foods and crafts.
The Orang Asli Development Department (Jakoa) chairman for Selangor and Wilayah Persekutuan said that watching Tengku Amir had brought back warm memories of his grandfather, the late Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah, visiting the community in year 2000.

Mohammad Anis Othman said that the late Sultan had come to officiate the museum while in his reign as the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.
“The presence of Tengku Amir today brings a lot of significance as this place was officiated by his late grandfather. It really brings an old memory back to life.
“Importantly, His Royal Highness spent time with the people from eight villages today,” said Mohammad Anis.
The museum is located on Jalan Gombak Lama and showcases the history and traditions of the Orang Asli people. It also displays artefacts like weapons used for hunting and musical instruments.
Today, which is the final day of the tour, Tengku Amir is scheduled to officiate the Bandar Country Homes police station and perform Friday prayers at Masjid Cahaya Iman.
GRS was implemented to bring the people of the state closer together and to instil a sense of nationalism and pride. To date, it has visited all districts in Selangor, starting from Hulu Selangor and concluding in Gombak.
