SHAH ALAM, April 6 — Tens of homes and vehicles were damaged in a rainstorm that hit Kampung Melayu Subang around 4pm today.
A witness, Marniza Othman, 41, said residents immediately contacted the authorities after seeing trees fall and roofs blown off by the stormwinds.
“I thought it was a hailstorm because the noise was so loud, but when I looked out the window, I saw my roof being blown off. It was chaotic, with water leaking into my living room and bedroom.
“Several homes were crushed by fallen trees. From Jalan Bukit Badak till Subang Perdana, about 20 homes were affected,” she said.
Marniza said the split-second destruction was frightening, especially as there were many people visiting the area during Aidilfitri.
