SUBANG JAYA, April 6 — RM5,000 in cash aid will be channelled to owners of homes damaged by the April 1 Putra Heights gas pipeline fire, while RM2,500 will be distributed to victims, from tomorrow.
State executive councillor for women empowerment and welfare Anfaal Saari said 509 affected families have registered with the Social Welfare Department so far.
“The 509 (families) include those not staying at temporary relief centres.
“It is important for us to identify every victim for early aid delivery from the federal and state governments,” she said when met at the Putra Heights Mosque temporary relief centre.

Earlier, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the federal government and Petronas will channel cash aid to those affected by the incident.
In another development, Anfaal said 121 families are still sheltering at the Putra Heights Mosque and Subang Jaya City Council (Camelia Hall) temporary relief centres.
“Camelia Hall is housing 24 families while here (Putra Heights Mosque) there are 97 families.
“I thank all parties including non-governmental organisations and government agencies that have been providing aid since day one,” she said.
