SUBANG JAYA, April 4 — The preliminary report on the gas pipeline fire incident along Jalan Putra Harmoni in Putra Heights, which destroyed a row of houses in the area, will be announced in the evening.
Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari said the explanation would be delivered by Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan.
“We will not provide it in written form but instead will present the detailed findings of the latest report, including the extent of the investigation carried out over the past 72 hours, some of which have already been identified.

“However, for a more comprehensive technical report, we still need more time, taking into account the soil structure and other related matters. All of that will be elaborated on later by the police chief and the Public Works Department,” he said.
Amirudin added that a written report would be made public once all related information was complete.
“As with the Batang Kali landslide (in December 2022) findings previously, the report was given to the families even though some claimed the (request for) report had not been fulfilled. In truth, we had already published the findings by the technical team — it was not a report prepared personally by the Menteri Besar.
“Certainly, we will also publish these latest findings once they are fully completed,” he told the press at Masjid Putra Heights.
The fire involving a Petronas gas pipeline at Jalan Putra Harmoni, Putra Heights, occurred at 8.10am on Tuesday (April 1) and affected 1,254 individuals from 308 families.
87 houses were completely damaged and deemed uninhabitable, while 148 houses sustained damage but can still be lived in after undergoing repairs.
