SHAH ALAM, March 29 — With just a few days to go until Hari Raya Aidilfitri, traders are reminded not to increase prices, especially for the 23 controlled items set by the government.

State executive councillor for rural development, unity, and consumer affairs Datuk Rizam Ismail said that traders who fail to comply with the directive under the implementation of the Festive Season Maximum Price Scheme (SHMMP) for Hari Raya Puasa 2025 will face strict action.

“So far, we have observed that traders are selling according to the set prices. Therefore, any customer who finds that prices are too high can report it to the Selangor Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry (KPDN).

“In conjunction with this festive season, we do not want the people to be burdened by high prices. We want them to be able to purchase necessities easily,” he told Media Selangor yesterday.

Simultaneously, Rizam urged the public to take advantage of the Jualan Mega Ehsan Aidilfitri programme at 25 locations to purchase essential items at lower prices.

“A variety of goods are being sold at reasonable prices. Residents can visit the nearest location,” he said.

In celebration of Aidilfitri, the administration is organising Jualan Mega Ehsan Aidilfitri for nine days, until today, with subsidies amounting to RM376,000.

The programme, in collaboration with the Selangor Agricultural Development Corporation, KoHijrah Selangor, and the Selangor Agricultural Marketing Board, is expected to benefit approximately 60,000 buyers.
