KLANG, March 25 — The Klang District and Land Office (PDT Klang) recorded RM119.7 million in land premium and permit collections as of February 28, exceeding the 41 per cent target set by the state administration this year.

Klang district officer Amri Ismail said RM1.8 million from the total collected has been allocated for various community programmes, including entrepreneurship assistance.

“This also includes large-scale projects currently underway. At present, several development projects are being closely monitored by the Klang District Development Action Committee (JTPD).

“Earlier this year, PDT Klang also began processing the appointment of contractors for eight projects under the Malaysian Road Records Information System (Marris), with a total cost of RM1.5 million. These projects are expected to commence in May,” he said when delivering a speech before Sultan Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj at a breaking of fast event and the inauguration of the Bandar Bukit Raja Mosque, here yesterday.

His Royal Highness graced the Bandar Bukit Raja Mosque yesterday to receive business tithe contributions totalling RM2.33 million from two companies — Bank Islam Malaysia Bhd (RM1.33 million) and Bawal Eksklusif (RM1 million).

His Royal Highness also accepted corporate cash waqf contributions of RM50,000 each from the Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ) and the Klang Royal City Council (MBDK).

During the event, Sultan Sharafuddin officiated the mosque, which was constructed at RM11.9 million.

The mosque, featuring an open and eco-friendly design, can accommodate up to 1,850 worshippers and has operated since April 4, 2022.

Meanwhile, Amri said the Selangor Maritime Gateway (SMG) project, which aims to clean up Sungai Klang, had achieved 37.58 per cent progress as of January 31.

He said work is currently being carried out in Zone 6 (Kampung Sungai Kandis to Alam Impian) and Zone 8 (Kota Kemuning to Kampung Lombong), with full completion expected next year.

“This project will not only increase river capacity but also improve the quality and quantity of water, aligning with the state government’s vision to make Sungai Klang a sustainable water source,” he said.

Launched in 2018, the SMG project is an initiative by the Selangor government to clean, rehabilitate, and develop Sungai Klang, which has long suffered from pollution.

Landasan Lumayan Sdn Bhd (LLSB), a wholly owned subsidiary of Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) (MBI), has been appointed to plan and manage the project’s implementation.
