SHAH ALAM, March 25 — The Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) offers the Sustainable Petaling Jaya Community Grant (PJ Seed) 7.0, with funding of between RM5,000 and RM50,000.

Petaling Jaya Mayor Mohamad Zahri Samingon said applications can be made until May 30 to the PJ Seed secretariat or online at its website.

He added that the grant gives the people opportunities to plan and implement projects in 10 fields to achieve the Sustainable Petaling Jaya 2030 roadmap.

“PJ Seed has entered its seventh year, and it will continue to be empowered to support community initiatives.

“Since its launch, the MBPJ has approved 153 projects with an allocation of RM2.7 million channelled to eligible organisations,” Zahri said in a statement yesterday.

He explained that the 10 fields were: smart city and digital economy; green city and green economy; circular economy; low-carbon city; safe city; child-friendly city; city for learning; resilient transport and infrastructure; universal design; and community 5.0.

“The MBPJ hopes to receive more applications of high standard to help improve our performance as an excellent local authority,” he added.

Applications are open to residents’ groups, Rukun Tetangga, village community management councils, joint management bodies, joint corporations, parent-teacher associations, private and public higher learning institutions, houses of worship, and registered non-governmental organisations.

For enquiries, contact the PJ Seed secretariat at 03-7954 1440 or email [email protected].
