KLANG, March 24 — Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj today attended a fast-breaking ceremony at the Bandar Bukit Raja Mosque here.
His Royal Highness was accompanied by Tengku Permaisuri of Selangor Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin and Raja Muda of Selangor Tengku Amir Shah.
The Ruler also presented Aidilfitri aid worth RM229,000 to 458 recipients, comprising the hardcore poor, poor, and reverts.
The Sultan then received business zakat payments from Bank Islam Malaysia Bhd (RM1.33 million) and Bawal Eksklusif (RM1 million).

Sultan Sharafuddin also witnessed a wakaf contribution handover worth RM100,000 to the Selangor Wakaf Corporation from the Subang Jaya City Council and Klang Royal City Council.
His Royal Highness, who was also accompanied by Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari, then delivered the officiation speech for the Bandar Bukit Raja Mosque, which was completed in 2022 at a cost of RM11.9 million.
Built on a four-acre plot of land, the mosque was designed to be open concept and eco-friendly, and can house up to 1,900 congregants.
The Ruler also broke fast and prayed with the people at the mosque.
