SHAH ALAM, March 20 — The additional cash incentive for Hari Raya Aidilfitri announced by Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari yesterday reflects the state government’s stability and strong financial management.

His political secretary Saifuddin Shafi Muhammad said Selangor’s consistent and efficient revenue collection over the past few years has enabled the state government to allocate the RM72 million cash aid, benefiting nearly 80,000 recipients across various groups.

“The commitment of the Menteri Besar and the state administration to driving continuous development serves as a key indicator that the state is on the right track,” he said in a statement today.

Saifuddin also warned against any attempt by the Opposition to disrupt the current administration, as it would diminish the benefits the people of the state currently enjoy.

“Any disruption, including attempts by the Opposition to manipulate democratic rights through changes in voting constituencies, is a step backwards that could hinder the benefits currently enjoyed by the people of this state.

“Any political discourse should be demonstrated through strong governance and clear policies, not desperate political tactics aimed solely at gaining advantage,” he said.

Yesterday, Amirudin announced that Selangor’s civil servants will receive an additional half-month salary, at a minimum of RM1,000, under the State Revenue Record Incentive (Insentif Rekod Hasil Negeri).

The Menteri Besar also hinted that more allocations will be considered depending on the state’s performance this year.

During the tabling of the 2025 Selangor Budget on November 15 last year, he said that state civil servants would receive a two-month salary Special Financial Assistance for this year’s Aidilfitri, with one month paid on December 31, 2024, and the remaining on March 25.
