Amirudin announces extra Aidilfitri bonus for state civil servants

SHAH ALAM, March 19 — Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari has announced Selangor civil servants will receive an additional half-month salary, at a minimum of RM1,000, under the State Revenue Record Incentive (Insentif Rekod Hasil Negeri).

He hinted that more allocations will be considered depending on the state’s performance this year.

“I am pleased to announce the state government has agreed to provide the State Revenue Record Incentive with half a month’s salary, or a minimum of RM1,000,” he said at the Mahabbah Ramadan Madani 2025 event with state civil servants at Dewan Jubli Perak Sultan Abdul Aziz here today.

He said the cash incentive will be distributed from April 15 according to stipulated procedures and guidelines.

During the tabling of the 2025 Selangor State Budget in November, Amirudin announced state civil servants would receive a two-month salary Special Financial Assistance (BKK) for Aidilfitri, with one month paid on December 31, 2024, and the remaining on March 25.

He said the incentive is a show of appreciation to the state civil servants for their hard work and commitment, which have contributed to the state’s success in the previous year.

In his speech today, Amirudin said the state government successfully recorded a revenue collection of RM2.867 billion in 2024 and is confident that with greater efforts, a new record can be achieved this year.

As a token of appreciation, the state will disburse the State Revenue Record Incentive.

The incentive will also be extended to community leaders, village liaison officers, Indian community leaders, and Wanita Berdaya Selangor and Selangor Youth Movement coordinators, with a payment of half a month’s allowance, or a minimum of RM500.

In addition, mosque staff will receive RM500, distributed through Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated), or MBI.

The state government will provide a RM250 contribution to federal civil servants serving in Selangor, such as policemen, soldiers, teachers and nurses and earning a basic salary of RM3,000 or below.

The total cost of this initiative amounts to RM38.75 million.

“The distribution of the State Revenue Record Incentive will start April 15, subject to procedures and the efficiency of department heads in submitting the latest staff list to the State Treasury,” he said.

Meanwhile, earlier in his speech, Amirudin stressed the importance of “ihsan (doing good)” in carrying out work among the civil servants, highlighting that it goes beyond excellence (itqan) by incorporating compassion, sincerity, and joy in carrying out duties.

“Ihsan makes a difference when we carry out our work to the best of our ability. It is more noble, virtuous, and superior to itqan — more perfection — because it is done with compassion and joy.

“We put in extra effort, whether or not there is the BKK, because we genuinely enjoy doing our work — that is the true meaning of ihsan,” he said.

Quoting the late former Menteri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim, Amirudin emphasised that civil servants should serve the public with compassion, even in matters beyond their direct responsibilities, as this would earn them the people’s respect.
