PUTRAJAYA, March 17 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has congratulated DAP's newly-elected Central Executive Committee (CEC) for the 2025-2028 term.
He hopes the new leadership team will continue working effectively as a united front for the next three years.
“Congratulations, and keep up the work,” he said briefly to the press after attending the Ihya’ Ramadan programme with the Higher Education Ministry's (MOHE) staff today.
Around 300 MOHE staff attended a Ramadan religious talk delivered by Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia's Faculty of Islamic Studies Dean Associate Professor Datuk Mohd Izhar Ariff Mohd Kashim, titled 'Maqasid Al-Quran dan Masyarakat Madani'.
The session was followed by Zohor prayers led by Izhar.
Also present were Deputy Higher Education Minister Datuk Mustapha Sakmud and MOHE secretary-general Datuk Anesee Ibrahim.
In yesterday's CEC election, Seremban MP cum Transport Minister Anthony Loke retained his position as secretary-general for the 2025-2028 term.
This marks Loke's second term in the role since taking over from Lim Guan Eng in 2022.
Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo was elected as the DAP chairman, replacing Lim, the former Penang chief minister.
Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming was elected deputy chairman, and Kulai MP cum Deputy Communications Minister Teo Nie Ching was chosen vice-chairman.
