HULU SELANGOR, March 13 — The Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj graced the iftar ceremony with the people at Masjid Saidina Ali in Bukit Sentosa 2 yesterday.
His Royal Highness' arrival was accompanied by the Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.
Sultan Sharafuddin presented RM281,000 in Hari Raya Aidilfitri contributions to 562 asnaf recipients, comprising 197 from the fakir category, 306 from the poor category, and 59 converts, with each receiving RM500.
This marks the largest number of asnaf beneficiaries for the Ihya’ Ramadan initiative in Selangor this year.
His Royal Highness also joined the congregation for iftar, followed by Maghrib, Isyak, and Tarawih prayers at the mosque.
Masjid Saidina Ali, built on a 2.77-acre site for RM5.2 million, was inaugurated by Sultan Sharafuddin in 2016 and can accommodate up to 1,800 worshippers at any one time.
