NARATHIWAT, March 12 — The Thai police are pursuing 17 individuals suspected of being involved in a bomb and shooting attack at the Sungai Golok District Office on Saturday (March 8).

Region 9 Chief Police Lieutenant General Piyawat Chalermsi said they have identified 17 individuals linked to the attack, which resulted in the deaths of two defence volunteers.

"Based on closed-circuit television footage from the scene, police have determined that 17 individuals are suspected of involvement in the attack on March 8.

"Police have also discovered three vehicles, including a four-wheel drive, used in the attack. A thorough investigation is underway to identify the owners of these vehicles," he told the press today.

Piyawat added that all the suspects linked to the attack had prior criminal records and were wanted by the police under active arrest warrants.

The police are intensifying efforts to track down all suspects while also strengthening security measures to reassure both local residents and tourists.

On Saturday, a series of bomb explosions and shootings in Narathiwat and Pattani provinces claimed five lives and injured 13 others.
