SHAH ALAM, March 8 — 69 orphans and underprivileged children from three welfare organisations in Klang were overjoyed today when they were taken shopping for complete Hari Raya Aidilfitri outfits at Jakel in Section 7, sponsored by KDEB Waste Management (KDEBWM).
As part of the ‘Santun Kasih Lebaran’ programme, 32 recipients were from Persatuan Kebajikan Anak Yatim dan Miskin Al-Munirah, 26 from Pertubuhan Kebajikan Anak-Anak Yatim Ulin Nuha, and 11 from Rumah Kebajikan Haneen Firdous.

One of the recipients, Nur Madihah Qistina Mohamad Termizi, 16, said she and her younger brother, Muhammad Anas Jaszly Zakwan, 14, were delighted as they have been receiving new Aidilfitri clothes almost every year.
The siblings have been staying at Al-Munirah for the past three years after their father passed away from a heart attack. They are currently studying at SMK Jalan Kebun.
“Alhamdulillah, thank you to all the donors, including KDEBWM, for their generosity in allowing us to personally choose our Aidilfitri outfits this year.
“Since our father passed away, we have felt the loss deeply, and our Aidilfitri celebrations have been modest. Previously, our father was always excited to find us the perfect Aidilfitri attire,” she said.

Another recipient, Nur Habibah Abdullah, 17, from Haneen Firdous, also expressed her happiness and hopes the initiative will continue.
“Thank you, KDEBWM. I hope this programme continues and helps even more underprivileged individuals in the future,” said the youngest of six siblings.
Earlier, KDEBWM senior general manager Ahmad Rizal Mohd Daud said RM15,000 had been allocated for the ‘Santun Kasih Lebaran’ programme, including giving ‘duit raya’ to orphans and the underprivileged.

“This is our second year collaborating with Jakel, aiming to bring joy to orphans and the underprivileged in Selangor while helping them celebrate Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
“InsyaAllah, if given the opportunity, we will continue working with Jakel and expand the number of recipients who can receive Aidilfitri essentials,” he said.
