SHAH ALAM, March 2 — A total of 48 hotels and resorts in Selangor have obtained Malaysian halal certification, said the Selangor Islamic Religious Department (Jais).
It listed these certified hotels and resorts in a Facebook post to assist Muslims in selecting suitable locations for breaking their fast.
Among the establishments with valid halal certification are Acapella Suite Hotel in Shah Alam, Bangi Resort Hotel, Bespoke Hotel in Puchong, and Amverton Cove Golf and Island Resort in Kuala Langat.
The list provided is accurate as of Friday (February 28), and users can check for the latest halal-certified premises at www.halal.gov.my.
Previously, the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (Jakim) prohibited food premises, including hotels without halal certification, from promoting ‘Ramadan buffets.’
This restriction aims to prevent confusion among Muslims, with food business operators facing fines of RM50,000 or up to RM10 million if found guilty of violating the regulation.
