KUALA LUMPUR, Mar 1 — The construction of the new Olympic House Malaysia in Bukit Jalil is expected to cost RM103 million, Olympic Council of Malaysia (OCM) president Tan Sri Mohamad Norza Zakaria said.
From the total, RM93 million is for the construction of the building, while RM10 million is the land lease for the building, he added.
“For the land lease, we (OCM) have to pay RM5 million beforehand and the remaining RM5 million in a period of 10 years.
“This building will have new facilities, a museum and a banquet hall to generate additional income, a media conference room, meeting rooms and several offices for sports associations that can’t afford to have a big office,” he said at the signing of an agreement between the OCM and Malaysia Stadium Corporation today.
He expressed hope that construction can be done in time for the 2027 SEA Games in Malaysia.
The new building will be next to the National Hockey Stadium and near the Bukit Jalil National Stadium, the National Aquatic Centre, the National Sports Council, and the Bukit Jalil Sports School.
