SHAH ALAM, Feb 28 — Selangor civil servants are allowed to go home 30 minutes earlier during Ramadan, under the state’s flexible working hours, said State Secretary Dato’ Ahmad Fadzli Tajuddin.

Fadzli said their lunch break will be shortened by 30 minutes, in line with the Human Resources Services Circular — Flexible Working Hours by the federal government.

“The state government is giving staff under its administration the flexibility to take breaks shorter by 30 minutes so they may leave the office 30 minutes early.

“This move is also a step to ensure their welfare so they may perform their duties in a comfortable and balanced manner while fasting,” he said in a statement today.

Fadzli said counter operation hours remain to ensure the people’s access to government services is not disrupted.

“The state government is committed to ensuring the well-being of civil servants without affecting their efficiency, in line with efforts to increase the quality of services for the people,” he added.
