SHAH ALAM, Feb 26 — Academician Prof Datuk Dr Mohammad Redzuan Othman and former Teratai state assemblyman Tiew Way Keng have been appointed by the State Legislative Assembly to represent Selangor as Dewan Negara Senators.

Both appointments received unanimous support from the state government bloc during the state assembly sitting today.

Redzuan is the current chairman of Institut Darul Ehsan, the Selangor government’s research think tank.

He is also serving as the seventh Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Selangor since January 1, 2016, and was previously the director of the Centre for Democracy and Elections at Universiti Malaya.

Tiew, a practising lawyer, served as the Teratai state assemblyman from 2013 to 2018 and was formerly a Petaling Jaya City Council councillor.

She also worked as an aide to one of the state’s executive councillors, contributing to policy formulation and town planning initiatives as a councillor.

Currently, Tiew is also the organising secretary of DAP Selangor.
