SEPANG, Feb 17 —The state administration has handed over essential equipment and machinery to 10 entrepreneurs in Sepang under the Selangor Indian Entrepreneur Equipment Assistance programme (I-SEED), earlier today.
State executive councillor for human resources and poverty eradication V. Papparaidu said the programme, which reaffirms Selangor’s commitment to supporting small businesses, has incurred a total expenditure of RM94,165.
“This programme is designed to enhance the economic status of the Indian community in Selangor,” he said in a statement today.
The I-SEED initiative is managed by the Unit for the Empowerment and Development of Indian Entrepreneurs in Selangor, ensuring targeted assistance to improve beneficiaries' economic standing.
Eligibility for the programme requires applicants to be Selangor residents or to have lived in the state for over 10 years, be registered voters in a Selangor constituency, and have a household income below RM3,000 per month.
Additionally, applicants must have operated an active business for at least a year and must not have previously received equipment aid under the state’s Poverty Eradication Blueprint Assistance Programme or the Selangor Micro Entrepreneur Fund.
The event held earlier today was attended by Sungai Pelek state assemblyman Lwi Kian Keong, Sepang MP Datuk Aiman Athirah Sabu’s representative Martin Wong, Tanjung Sepat state assemblyman Datuk Borhan Aman Shah’s special officer Rahimah Bibi Naoor Pitchai, along with local Indian community leaders.
