SHAH ALAM, Feb 17 — The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a thunderstorm warning for several districts in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur, with adverse weather expected to persist until 5pm today.
According to the latest alert released at 2pm, affected areas in Selangor include Hulu Selangor, Gombak, and Hulu Langat.
Meanwhile, Kuala Lumpur has also been placed under the warning, indicating the likelihood of heavy rains, strong winds, and potential flash floods.
The warning also extends to neighbouring states including Negeri Sembilan, Melaka, and Johor, with significant weather activity anticipated in districts like Jelebu, Seremban, and Alor Gajah.
In East Malaysia, several areas in Sarawak and Sabah are also on high alert.
MetMalaysia has advised residents to remain vigilant, particularly in low-lying and flood-prone areas, and to take necessary precautions against potential disruptions.
