KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 14 — Floods in Sarawak have completely receded with the closure of the last two temporary relief centres in Miri, while the number of evacuees in Sabah continues to decline.
In Sarawak, the Beluru Community Hall and SMK Bakong Beluru relief centres were closed at 5pm, after all 202 evacuees were allowed to return home.
Meanwhile, in Sabah, the state Disaster Management Committee secretariat reported a drop in flood victims in Kinabatangan, with numbers decreasing from 107 people (29 families) at 4pm to 84 people (21 families) at 8pm.
“Only one relief centre remains open in Kinabatangan,” the committee said.
