Four foreign-operated premises shut in integrated MPKS operation

SHAH ALAM, Feb 14 — Four business premises run by foreigners at Alam Jaya Commercial Centre, Puncak Alam, near here, were ordered shut after an integrated operation led by the Kuala Selangor Municipal Council (MPKS) yesterday.

MPKS, in a statement, said the four-hour operation, which began at 10am, targeted two restaurants and two car wash centres.

The operation involved 35 personnel and was conducted in collaboration with the Companies Commission of Malaysia and the Royal Malaysian Customs Department Central Zone Unit II (Selangor).

Authorities issued 12 compounds for various violations, including operating without a licence, displaying unauthorised advertisements, and obstructing pedestrian walkways. Trading equipment was also seized as part of enforcement measures.

“This firm action aims to enhance awareness and ensure compliance with local regulations, particularly among foreign traders.

“Such operations will continue to uphold public welfare and maintain the safety of the local community,” the statement read.
