KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 13 — Malaysia has decided to revise the dumping margin for Vietnam’s steel product manufacturer Hoa Phat Steel Sheet LLC (HPSS) from 3.06 per cent to 4.89 per cent, according to Investment, Trade, and Industry Ministry (Miti).
On August 16 last year, the government initiated an administrative review on the anti-dumping duty imposed on flat-rolled products of non-alloy steel plated or coated with aluminium and zinc originating or exported from HPSS in Vietnam.
Miti said the administrative review was initiated based on the application filed by HPSS on the basis that their dumping margin has changed substantially.
“Pursuant to subsection 28(1) of the Countervailing and Anti-Dumping Duties Act 1993, the administrative review was carried out by the government to determine the existence of changes in the dumping margin on the imports of the subject merchandise originating or exported from HPSS in Vietnam.
“The government has completed the administrative review and made a final determination that the dumping margin for Hoa Phat Steel Sheet LLC has changed and is to be revised from 3.06 per cent to 4.89 per cent,” it said.
Miti added that the Royal Malaysian Customs Department will enforce the collection of the revised anti-dumping duties effective February 13, 2025, to December 11, 2025.
