KDN denies arrest during memorandum submission at Setia Perkasa Complex

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 12 — The Home Affairs Ministry (KDN) has denied reports of arrests during the submission of a memorandum at the Setia Perkasa Complex on Monday (February 10), which has circulated on social media.

It clarified that participants in the memorandum submission were only asked to provide statements to the police as part of standard security procedures, per the Restricted Areas and Prohibited Places Act 1959.

In a statement today, KDN said the police conducted the usual procedure for any incidents that did not comply with security protocols for entering the Setia Perkasa Complex.

It emphasised that no arrests were made and urged social media users to verify information from reliable sources to avoid misinformation, while also adhering to the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.

Separately, Putrajaya district police chief ACP Aidi Sham Mohamed confirmed that they only recorded the statement of Suara Rakyat Malaysia executive director Sevan Doraisamy, and refuted reports suggesting the latter had been detained for entering KDN premises without a pass.
