SHAH ALAM, Feb 12 — Tourism Selangor and Batik Air Malaysia have collaborated to offer exclusive flight discounts of up to 30 per cent for travellers flying from India to Selangor.

The promotion is part of the state’s efforts to achieve its target of eight million tourists for Visit Selangor Year 2025.

According to Tourism Selangor chief executive officer Chua Yee Ling, the state has experienced a remarkable 54.13 per cent increase in tourist arrivals from India, attracting 1.13 million Indian tourists last year.

“As one of Malaysia’s leading airlines, Batik Air Malaysia has played a crucial role in strengthening air connectivity.

“To date, the airline has operated 2,392 flights from India to Malaysia, selling 387,504 seats in 2024.

“We believe this strategic partnership will further enhance Selangor’s accessibility and solidify its position as a top travel destination in 2025,” she said in a statement today.

Meanwhile, Batik Air Malaysia’s communications and promotions head Suresh Vanan is confident that their established network and strong connectivity will enhance travel experiences for Indian tourists, reinforcing their commitment through the collaboration with Tourism Selangor.

The initiative stems from a strategic partnership between Tourism Selangor and Batik Air Malaysia, during their participation in the Outbound Travel Mart in Mumbai, and sales mission to Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Kochi from January 28 to February 8 this year.

The collaboration, participated by GL Play by Gamuda Land and the Malaysian Indian Tour and Travel Association, aims to create special travel packages for Indian tourists visiting Selangor.
