SHAH ALAM, Feb 11 — Tourism Selangor is optimistic that the Visit Selangor Year (VSY) 2025 campaign will achieve its target of attracting eight million tourists.

Its chief executive officer Chua Yee Ling said they are focusing on key tourist markets including Japan, China, and Indonesia.

“Tourism Selangor is collaborating with industry players to organise various carnivals, food festivals, and gastronomy events.

“In March, the main highlight will be a durian festival, which is expected to attract foreign tourists to Selangor to enjoy the King of Fruits,” she told Media Selangor.

Chua added that last month, Tourism Selangor also organised a FAM Trip with participants from the Asean Tourism Forum to promote Selangor’s tourism products.

“This FAM Trip involved members of the media, key opinion leaders, and travel agencies from across Asean.

“They were introduced to the state's tourism products up close, while also helping to promote the VSY 2025 campaign,” she said.

Additionally, Tourism Selangor, via its collaboration with cultural associations, promoted the VSY 2025 posters and logo during the Chinese New Year celebrations.

The state government is targeting eight million visitors to Selangor this year, with an expected transaction value of RM11.7 billion in conjunction with VSY 2025.

The campaign aims to offer over 60 programmes and events, with its promotional efforts focusing on key segments including eco-tourism, agro-tourism, as well as arts and culture.
