SHAH ALAM, Feb 3 — Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari today cautioned against slander politics, after activist Badrul Hisham Shaharin apologised for making false allegations against Landasan Lumayan Sdn Bhd (LLSB).
“Praise be to God, today the truth triumphed over falsehoods. This slander was peddled by Perikatan Nasional (PN) during its last state election. Various accusations and attacks were levelled against the Selangor government and myself, with attempts to link me to the slanderous narrative by PN,” the Menteri Besar said in a Facebook post.
“I have submitted many denials and evidence and have rebutted every accusation at press conferences.
“This proves that the slanderous culture synonymous with Perikatan Nasional is a culture of shallowness. Reject slander politics!” he said.
Badrul, better known as Chegubard, issued the apology after the amicable resolution of a defamation suit against him.
The suit, initiated by LLSB on August 8, 2023, stemmed from multiple statements made by Chegubard on his social media platforms and other online channels, which the company contended were false and defamatory, and damaging to its reputation and standing.
Earlier, on August 3, 2023, LLSB served a letter of demand to Chegubard over his defamatory remarks made against the firm and the Selangor Maritime Gateway project, which LLSB manages.
