SUBANG JAYA, Feb 2 — The Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) offers free bus services for students along the PJ01 and PJ02 routes during the new school session.

Petaling Jaya Mayor Mohamad Zahri Samingon said two coaches ply the routes under the PJ City Bus shuttle service, from 6.30am to 1pm.

Zahri said the initiative reflects Petaling Jaya’s agenda to be a child-friendly city and ensure kids’ right to education.

“We will involve children in every development plan in Petaling Jaya. We want to create a safe environment for them,” he told reporters after presenting vouchers to recipients of the Back to School 2025 programme at the Mydin USJ Supermarket here yesterday.

Zahri said the programme is MBPJ’s commitment to help vulnerable communities and enhance community well-being, as contained in the First Selangor Plan (RS-1).

“MBPJ will continue to play an active role to empower community well-being via various aid programmes and welfare initiatives.

“This is in line with the RS-1 target under the second strategy — to ensure social inclusivity and the people’s well-being,” he added.
