PUTRAJAYA, Feb 1 — Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Mohd Na’im Mokhtar urged non-governmental organisations with experience operating in Palestine to join a special agency coordinating committee to help rebuild Gaza.
He said the involvement of all parties in the committee is vital to realise Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s hope that Malaysia plays an important role in helping Palestinians.
“Together, we pray the intention expressed by the Prime Minister that Malaysia plays a role, specifically in the context of working with the Japanese government to help our friends oppressed by the Israeli Zionist regime, a success,” he told reporters after attending the Zikir Akbar Madani programme in conjunction with the 2025 Federal Territories Day celebration here last night.
He said the committee will hold its first meeting on February 6, and its work will be coordinated by Islamic Development Department director-general Datuk Sirajuddin Suhaimee.
Na’im attended tonight’s programme with Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories) Dr Zaliha Mustafa.
