SHAH ALAM, Jan 29 — Selangor Care Accelerator (CareX) will be launched in February to widen the Selangor Care Economy Policy and drive higher revenue.

State executive councillor for women empowerment and welfare Anfaal Saari said the programme will train those involved in the care sector for several months on the development of the industry.

“This programme covers myriad training, workshops, and law (lessons). The draw is that participants must present their ideas to investors for the chance to receive a grant.

“This will drive the economy as there is much potential to be developed, towards the vision of making Selangor a care hub. This programme will widen the industry’s perspective,” Anfaal said on Media Selangor’s Bicara Semasa segment.

In November, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari launched the Selangor Care Economy Policy as preparation for an ageing state.

He said the policy focuses on five cores — advocacy and promotion; governance and supervision; trained carers and workers; investment and cooperation; and innovation, technology and data.

The policy, effective until 2030, covers elderly, child and disabled folk care, as well as better support for formal and informal carers.
