RAWANG, Jan 24 — State assemblyman Chua Wei Kiat will be highlighting the issue of Rawang’s excessive floods and poor infrastructure at the Selangor State Legislative Assembly when it reconvenes on February 18.
Chua said he plans to provide solutions to the problem as the people of Rawang have been facing floods on their main roads and in their housing estates whenever it rains heavily.
“For my second term as Rawang’s representative, my vision is to fix the flood problem and to also provide better infrastructure for the people so that there won’t be massive traffic jams there,” he said yesterday at his service centre.
”I know these issues are topmost on the minds of the people. I need to resolve them by 2027.”
Chua also said that the state government has agreed on an allocation to build a water catchment pond near the Rawang toll house.
Previously, Speaker Lau Weng San also confirmed that the issue of Rawang’s floods and poor infrastructure would be the focus of the state assembly when it begins next month, and that it should be resolved as soon as possible.
Lau also reminded his fellow assemblymen to submit their questions for deliberations by January 28, before the assembly reconvenes.
