NILAI, Jan 22 — National track cyclist Muhammad Ridwan Sahrom has set his sights on becoming the country's sprint king after successfully proving his excellent performance in the sprint event in the President's Cup Series Two and Three at the National Velodrome.

Ridwan, affectionately known as 'Boy', said he wants to make a difference by making the event his favourite and feels it has the potential to be the place for him to create surprises in the future.

At the President's Cup Series Three action today, he won the gold medal in the men's elite sprint event, leaving behind Australian rider Sam Gallagher with the silver while the bronze went to his teammate Mohd Akmal Nazimi Jusena.

"I want to make a difference because we have keirin experts like Muhammad Shah Firdaus Sahrom.

"I want to do something different. I want to focus on sprinting because I think this is the best platform which I see as good for me," he told the press after the championship today.
