SELAYANG, Jan 18 — Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the state are encouraged to leverage the Visit Selangor Year (VSY) 2025 tourism campaign to promote their products.

State executive councillor for women empowerment and social welfare Anfaal Saari said this effort could help SMEs generate higher income.

“From the northern to the southern regions, this state boasts high-quality products with significant potential for further development. In conjunction with VSY 2025, let us market these local products.

“It is not just targeting domestic tourists but also aims to attract more international visitors. This is an opportunity to showcase and promote your products,” she said at the opening of the BS Freshmart supermarket branch in Rawang today.

VSY 2025, which offers over 60 programmes throughout the year, is expected to attract eight million domestic and international tourists, with a projected revenue of RM11.7 billion.

Meanwhile, BS Freshmart's managing director Mohammad Rasul Razuan said they plan to open more branches in Selangor this year.

In addition to Rawang, the supermarket, which features a wide range of local products, will also open outlets in Banting and Puncak Alam as initial steps.

“We currently have 25 branches nationwide, including in Pahang and Kelantan, and plan to add five more premises this year, focusing on Selangor.

“This market specialises in the sale of seafood products, allowing customers to obtain fresh and high-quality items,” he said.
