SUBANG JAYA, Jan 15 — The Section 15's (SS15) Light Rail Transit (LRT) station have been enlivened with various captivating mural paintings through the Sang Seni 15 Project.
Subang Jaya state assemblyman Michelle Ng Mei Sze said the initiative was a collaboration between her office, Prasarana Malaysia Berhad, Fitline, and Quest Studio, costing RM62,400.
“The objective of this project is to support local artists while tackling the issue of graffiti. We hope these murals will also brighten up the environment for road users and pedestrians.
“SS15 was chosen for the first project with Prasarana because it often hosts current trends. We hope this mural art initiative can begin here and later expand to other locations,” she said today.

Earlier, she inspected the murals on the 12 pillars around the SS15 LRT Station, accompanied by Prasarana Integrated Development Sdn Bhd acting chief executive officer Ashok Panchalingam.
Meanwhile, curator M Firdaus Omar said six local artists were involved in the project, which adopted the themes of mobility, community, commerce, and lifestyle in SS15.
Taking two weeks to complete, Firdaus and his team faced various challenges, including traffic conditions and weather, to finalise the murals.
“Each day, we dedicated 12 hours to completing the paintings. Among the challenges we had to endure were dangerous traffic conditions and unpredictable weather,” he said.
