SHAH ALAM, Jan 10 — Selangor is strengthening ties with Khazanah Nasional Bhd to accelerate advancements in the state’s aerospace and semiconductor industries.
State executive councillor for investment, trade, and mobility Ng Sze Han said the Selangor government received a courtesy visit by Khazanah yesterday, led by its managing director Datuk Amirul Feisal Wan Zahir, to discuss related matters.
The meeting was chaired by Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.
“We discussed the development of the aerospace sector in Subang and the rapidly growing semiconductor industry in Selangor,” Ng said in a Facebook post today.
“The state government envisions driving these two high-impact industries forward in collaboration with the Federal government, through partnerships with Khazanah, Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) or MBI, and the Selangor Information Technology and Digital Economy Corporation (Sidec).”
Also present at the meeting were MBI chief executive officer Dato’ Saipolyazan M Yusop and Sidec chief executive officer Yong Kai Ping.
In a separate post, Ng said he received a briefing by Amanat Lebuhraya Rakyat Bhd (ALR) on the direction of its highway operations, covering Litrak (which operates the Damansara-Puchong Expressway or LDP), Kesas, SPRINT, and the SMART Tunnel.
The meeting focused on solutions to traffic congestions on these highways.
Among those present were representatives from the Subang Jaya City Council, the State Economic Planning Unit, and MBI.
“LDP and Kesas serve over two million users and are heavily congested as they form key routes connecting eastern and western Selangor. The state government welcomes ALR’s commitment to finding solutions to traffic congestion on ALR highways and surrounding areas.
“This includes promoting safe driving education and encouraging a shift to more efficient and connected public transportation options such as the LRT, buses, and Selangor Mobility’s demand-responsive transit vans.
“Further discussions will be held to ensure these goals are achieved, benefiting the people of Selangor,” he said.
