SEPANG, Jan 9 — Three men wanted for cheating and drug abuse cases in Melaka, Putrajaya, and Banting in Selangor have been arrested during traffic operations.
Sepang district police chief ACP Norhizam Bahaman said the suspects, aged between 25 and 54, were nabbed during the operations, which saw police mounting eight roadblocks since Tuesday (January 7).
“The operations began on Tuesday and will run until January 14, aiming to detect various offences involving commercial vehicles around Sepang,” he said during a press conference today.
So far, 162 summonses have been issued for various traffic offences, following inspections of 1,103 individuals and 896 vehicles.
Norhizam added that 68 personnel of various ranks were involved in the operations.
Additionally, four heavy vehicles were seized for various offences, including operating without road tax.
On a separate matter, he said the Sepang police have recently received three reports of missing girls, aged between 15 and 17, and all the cases have been solved with the return of the teenagers to their families.
Norhizam advised parents to monitor their children’s movements and social interactions to prevent similar incidents in the future.
